WASHINGTON, February 26, 2008 - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:
IDA Credit: USD $25 million
Terms: Maturity = 35 years; Grace = 10 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is designed to boost agriculture production and improve the use of water in irrigation by increasing surface water availability and reducing groundwater depletion. The project aims to boost water productivity through a combination of engineering, management, and agricultural measures.
