TFF Activities

The Trade Facilitation Facility (TFF) is a multi-donor trust fund that was launched in April 2009 to help developing countries improve their competitiveness through concrete improvements in their trade facilitation systems and by reducing trade costs. This page provides a brief summary and description of  TFF activities and projects at the World Bank. Note: All summaries are in PDF format

  • Support Cameroon Customs for an Integrity Plan
    The objective of this activity is to increase transparency and revenue collection in Cameroon customs by making operational the use of performance indicators in the human resource policy.

  • Payments Systems in CEMAC
    The activity targets the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC in French). The project will support the reduction in trade related transaction costs by enhancing innovation and competition in CEMAC payment systems. This project supplements measures already being taken by CEMAC’s Central Bank (BEAC) and other regional stakeholders.

  • International Trade Procedures Simplification
    The main objective of the proposed trade facilitation activities is to promote domestic and international trade in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by identifying and removing barriers and bottlenecks to efficient trade flows, protecting the human and economic rights of small scale traders, in particular women, and providing an environment in which they can organize and benefit from the dynamics of greater scale from more formalized trading.

  • Regional Trade Finance in the East African Community
    The program aims to benefit all financial markets’ participants in the Partner States (including national regulators, institutions and the general public) by addressing the challenges and facilitating financial services trade between service providers and service buyers.  It also envisages the facilitation of cross-border trade and will monitor the volume of cross-border payment transactions through its activities.

    The objective of this program is to collect baseline data and assess the state and performance of the infrastructure, policies and regulations of institutions that influence trade and transport facilitation performance in Zimbabwe. The overall objective is to develop a prioritized action plan on measures to enhance trade competitiveness based on improvements in trade and transport facilitation.

    This project will provide a grounded basis for developing viable and realistic trade logistics and distribution services strategy for Rwanda.   • Trade Facilitation for Regional Integration in Central America
    The project aims to support activities that improve the quality of the trading environment by enhancing the efficiency of the supply chain and reducing the costs of trade. In the end the Central American countries will be better able to derive the maximum benefit from their free trade agreements with the US and the European Union.
