World Bank Trade Strategy Goes to the Board

The Center for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) and the Department of International Development (DFID) provided portions of footage for this video.

The World Bank Group has prepared a Trade Strategy which will be discussed by the Board on June 9. Following Board consideration, a final version of the Strategy will be prepared and posted on the Bank's website.

The current version of the Strategy has been informed by and benefited from the feedback and input received from stakeholders worldwide during on-line and face-to-face consultations held in 2010. Views and input were sought on how the World Bank Group can improve its work to support developing countries on trade issues and opportunities for years to come. A  draft Approach Paper was shared publicly between April to September 2010 to support and guide the consultations.

Read a summary of stakeholder views and how the World Bank Group has addressed these themes in the Trade Strategy.  Summaries of views from individual meetings as well as written and on-line comments are available
here. Consultations details are here
