SSD thematic program consists of three components: social accountability, social inclusion, and social cohesion.

Social Accountability  is defined as an approach toward building accountability that relies on civic engagement, that is, in which ordinary citizens participate directly or indirectly in extracting accountability from government.

Social Inclusion  refers to promoting equal access to opportunities, enabling everyone to contribute to social and economic program and share in its rewards.

Social Cohesion  works to promote cohesive societies that enable women and men to work together to address common needs, overcome constraints and consider diverse interests.
