Monitoring, Publication, and Storage of Messages

The JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum aims to provide a freely accessible and open communication Forum that facilitates discussion and sharing of experience. The JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum therefore adheres to the principle of free speech and stresses individual responsibility for statements communicated through it.

The JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum, however, reserves the right to block messages inconsistent with the
Protocol  from distribution to the JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum as well as to remove such messages from the JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum Archive.

Furthermore, users who repeatedly violate the
Protocol  are subject to cancellation of their subscription upon appropriate warning by JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum moderator(s).

The JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum is meant for public access and reference. The JJ/WBGSP advises scholars and alumni that even after users delete an e-mail message from their computers or email accounts it may remain in the Archive or other backup facilities and thus is subject to public disclosure.

User Protocol

The JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum is expected to eventually serve hundreds or even thousands of participants. To facilitate efficient use of the JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum and avoid unnecessary distraction, the JJ/WBGSP Secretariat recommends the following Protocol to guide current and prospective subscribers' use of this communication medium.

Participants should post messages only if it can be determined that the messages are of general interest to the JJ/WBGSP Community; messages that are meant to be discreet inquiries or responses should be transmitted directly to the JJ/WBGSP Secretariat at
jjwbgsp@worldbank.org or to the individual who initiated the response.

Participants should clearly indicate, in the subject line of the email, the content of the message being transmitted.

Check mark
  • We encourage participants of the Discussion Forum to submit information as plain text.
  • Our system for Discussion Forum does not accept attachments and MIME format.

    We appreciate your cooperation.

Participants should not post messages unrelated to JJ/WBGSP activities or stated interests of JJ/WBGSP alumni and scholars.

Participants should be sensitive to the global, multicultural, and diverse geopolitical nature of the JJ/WBGSP Community and refrain from encouraging discourse on overtly controversial topics or posting potentially insulting messages. Mutual respect is expected.

Participants should update or remove their email addresses from the JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum if their email addresses change or are otherwise not valid. Instructions for removing addresses from the JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum are provided in How to Join and Leave the JJ/WBGSP Discussion Forum.
