I am presently employed at the Philippine Department of Tourism, a national government office. My fourteen (14) years in public service have allowed me to advance my career as a tourism professional. I must say that the opportunities and problems encountered during these years have helped honed my skills in planning, management and organization required in my job.

    Chief Tourism Operations Officer
    • Undertake destination planning and development, community organizing, product development and enhancement, and institutional networking in identified tourism sites
    • Conduct and/or effect researches and studies on various aspects of tourism planning and development
    • Recommend courses of action and/or policy directives for management decision to enhance project implementation such as preparing guidelines, Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding among stakeholders, etc.
    • Prepare Term of Reference for required undertakings
    • Review technical documents prepared by contracted consultants
    • Evaluate tourism project proposals submitted by local government units, private entities or non-government organizations
    • Conduct meetings and project presentations
    • Conduct site inspections and assessment of potential tourism sites/areas
    • Conceptualize new tourism products and programs and organize pilot tours for newly developed products
    • Liaise with government agencies, private sector, and non-government organizations for the implementation of tourism projects and activities
    • Act as a permanent representative of the Office to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Marine Mammal Conservation and the Sub-Committee on Biodiversity
    • Prepare annual work & financial plan and submit quarterly/yearly reports; and
    • Manage and ensure smooth flow of operations within the Division
