The Joint-Japan World Bank Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) held its third African regional conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This one-day conference was a part of the JJ/WBGSP scaling-up activities which aim to promote knowledge sharing with the JJ/WBGSP community and beyond.

• a speech by Mr. Abdoulaye Seck, Acting Resident Representative, World Bank, Cameroon, on his own experience in Africa as a senior economist

• remarks by Professor Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, Director, Economic Policy Management (EPM) Program, University of Yaoundé II, on the joint efforts of EPM and WBI in cultivating future leaders of Africa, and

• a presentation by Mr. Tsutomu Shibata, Senior Adviser, WBI, on the knowledge economy and its implications for the development of Cameroon

• Oil and Poverty Reduction in Cameroon by Mr. Ali Ahamat Brémé (Chad), University of Yaoundé II
• Investment Incentive System in Tunisia by Mr. Mahmoud Ghouil (Tunisia), CERDI
• Participation and Institutional Reform in the Water Sector in Zimbabwe: Case of Smallholder Formal and Informal Irrigation in the Mzingwane Catchment by Mr. Oniward Svubure, UNESCO-IHE
