My working experience spans over sixteen years mainly in agricultural research and extension services and university teaching. My research interest is quite varied motivated by my academic training and experience. It includes the area of soil fertility management, irrigation development, water resources management. In the area of water resources management, I am mainly interested in water governance and institutions of water management. At the university, I teach Soil Science, Water Resources Management, Hydrology and Irrigation Management.

Education

I was born on 9th December 1968 in a rural area of Ndanga district in southern Zimbabwe. I am the third born in large family of ten children made up of six boys and four girls. Both my parents are trained primary school teachers and the education of their children was a priority.

After completing my Advanced Level studies in 1987, I was admitted at the University of Zimbabwe to do a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Agriculture majoring in soil science which I completed in 1990. I was privileged to do two higher degrees, one a Masters of Philosophy degree in Agriculture and the other a Masters of Science degree in Water Management.

Other Information

I married in 1993 to Varaidzo Sussan and we have two children, a boy and a girl. We are devout Christians in our family. Amongst our hobbies includes tennis, watching soccer and traveling.
