Alumni Training, 2010

JJ/WBGSP Training Course in Japan, October 24-30, Japan

Alumni Training in Japan
The 2010 Alumni Training Course in Japan "Highlights of the Japanese Development Experience - Lessons for JJ/WBGSP Alumni" will take place in Japan from October 24-30, 2010.

The training course is organized by JJ/WBGSP's ASCEND (Alumni and Scholars Capacity Enrichment Network for Development) Program, formerly the Scaling-Up Program.

The course is designed exclusively for recipients of the JJ/WBGSP who completed their Masters’ degrees outside Japan during 2008 and 2009, and have returned to their home countries. Applications are currently being reviewed.

This course offers a wonderful opportunity for JJ/WBGSP alumni to learn development lessons from Japan's experience - its post-war reconstruction and rapid economic growth, socioeconomic policy, culture, business practices, and more.

The course will consist of a series of lectures, company visits, meetings with the Ministry of Finance of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), discussions with current J/WBGSP scholars studying in Japan, and cultural experiences. Throughout the course, participants will meet and network with other JJ/WBGSP alumni from around the world, officials from the Government of Japan and the World Bank.
