The University of Tokyo Master in Public Policy, International Program (MPPIP), launched in October, 2010, is the newest partnership program. The program, based in the Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP) offers an extensive and diverse menu of taught-in-English courses, giving students without Japanese language skills the opportunity to learn cutting edge approaches to the public policy arena from internationally renowned faculty members at University of | | Tokyo.
The MPP/IP targets future world leaders in the field of public policy. GraSPP’s mission is to bridge the gap between academic learning and public policy practices. Academic staff and private/public sector policy practitioners work closely together to connect social science theory to real world problems. This blend of strong academic foundations with real world experience is well-designed for the mid-career developing country professional seeking to address his or her country’s challenges and opportunities.The curriculum provides a solid base in economics and allows scholars to choose from a variety of core electives and case study courses.
