Community Empowerment and Social Inclusion

The World Bank Institute's Community Empowerment & Social Inclusion (CESI) learning program works to help create the conditions that enable the poor and the excluded to shape their own development. The program looks at issues of empowerment and governance, thus making the crucial link called for in recent Bank analytical work to strengthen the voices of the poor in influencing public policies, as well as in making institutions more accountable and responsive to their needs.
