About Us

The Education Program of the World Bank Institute is designed to facilitate the creation within Bank member countries of a sustained capacity to define needs, implement and evaluate education reforms. Such reforms need to be evaluated to ensure that they result in greater equity of opportunities, higher levels of quality and relevance to ensure preparation for meeting the needs of the knowledge economy, and more efficient use of educational resources, thus contributing to national economic and social development objectives and poverty alleviation.

The Education Program provides WBI with an important, unique vehicle to synthesize and disseminate the accumulated wealth of experience across World Bank member countries on the design, delivery, and monitoring and evaluation of educational reforms.
