| To achieve optimum impact, the Education Program customizes and continuously adapts, updates and refines its learning materials, and disseminates them through a variety of modalities. The program also ensures effectiveness by focusing on results, including learning assessments, monitoring systems, and the effective use of results information.
Â
Learning events are highly accessible in that they can take place in traditional classrooms, distance learning centers, project sites, and participants’ workplace and home. A partnership with the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) enables the Program to connect development practitioners and client countries through advanced information and communication technologies such as videoconferencing and high-speed internet resources at over 70 GDLN affiliates around the world. To ensure flexible, cost-efficient and client-oriented delivery, the Education Program uses blended learning modalities, including combinations of face-to-face and distance learning methods such as:
- Face-to-face workshops, conferences, courses, dialogues, seminars, and study tours;
- Print publications, textbooks, and course materials;
- One- or two-way video conferencing, instructional videos, interactive and broadcast television, radio;
- CD-ROMS, e-newsletters, online discussion forums, facilitated online courses, and real-time online interactions.Â
