Yidan Wang is a Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank Institute Human Development Department (WBIHD), Education Team. She has been a task team leader of several global and regional capacity building programs, including: “Education for development and competitiveness: Challenges and opportunities for post-basic education,” the labor market core course, and education decentralization and finance for Asia. Prior to joining the WBIHD, she was a core member of the team at Education Group of the Human Development Network (HDNED) preparing the Bank’s secondary education policy paper with a focus on governance and management. She has also provided cross-support to various projects and Economic and Sector Work (ESW) work in Asia and Africa. Ms. Wang had been working for four years in the Asian Development Bank (ADB), initiating and coordinating public-private partnership in education and health sector programs, and coordinating education sector lending programs in Bangladesh. She has also held several teaching and research positions, including visiting professor at the State University of New York, Harvard University, Peking University, and Northeast Normal University in China. Ms. Wang holds a Ph.D from the University of Pittsburgh.
