International Mother Language Day: Improving the Quality of Teaching and Learning

     Tuesday, February 21st - 10:00 am to 12:30 pm - The World Bank (MC4-800)  This event, in celebration of the UN Mother Language Day - February 21st - examined the arguments for using Mother tongue instruction by sharing the latest empirical research linking language of instruction to evidence of learning quality and by sharing developing country experience on language policy to make it possible for such countries to achieve EFA goals.  The event was organized around a panel of experts, some giving face-to-face presentations and others linking up through video-conferencing or by previously recorded presentations. The 2-hour session was interactive, allowing for participant feedback and comments.
