Strategic Choices for Education Reform in Nigeria This workshop was offered in Abuja in early 2008 for representatives of the Ministries of Education (MoEs) of 6-7 Nigerian States as an adaptation of the global Education core course. The workshop covered themes such as:

  • Setting the Stage for Institutional Reform
  • Building Capacity
  • Finance and Expenditure
  • Effective Strategies for Raising Quality
  • Improving Teaching and Learning

The main thrust of the course was on the “AB-CD” (Accountability Building and Capacity Development) particularly related to the education sector within a federal system. Participants were exposed to a range of lessons learned and experiences from different countries, applying these ideas and experiences to the Nigerian context and contributing extensively from their own considerable experiences.
