The Environment and Natural Resources Management program implements capacity building activities along three themes (see "Objectives" section) through the following 6 topics:
All subprograms are implemented at various levels in response to specific environmental challenges. For example, capacity enhancement continues at the global and regional levels through the Environmental Economics and Development Policy courses and Clean Air Initiatives for Asia and Latin America. New learning events on sustainability strategies are under development for Africa including community level, ecosystems-oriented management while an initiative on sustainable waters for the Syr Darya Basin in Central Asia will be launched in FY05. At the country level, new applications are being developed for training activities such as for Lake Baikal in Russia, waste management in China, and air pollution management in Asian and Latin American countries.
