Regions & Countries

WBI's thematic programs offer learning events and products that are tailored to specific country needs and aligned with the Millennium Development Goalsand the World Bank's corporate priorities. Country-specific learning programs are designed in close collaboration with the Bank's regional operations staff.

The targeted regions and countries for the ENRM program are selected on the basis of the commonality of specific environmental problems, demand for capacity building, and willingness to build partnership by local partner institutions and WBI priority countries.

Brazil Program  The World Bank’s Country Assistance Strategy for Brazil seeks to support the government in achieving a more equitable, a more sustainable and a more competitive Brazil. The World Bank Institute's Environment and Natural Resources Management Program provides support to the Bank's country and sector teams through the design and implementation of two multi-faceted capacity development programs and a series of learning activities that take into account the existing in-country capacity and government priorities in environmental and natural resources management. More...

China Program To strengthen the capacity of people and institutions that influence environmental and natural resources management, the World Bank Institute's Environment and Natural Resources Management (ENRM) program has been working in Cina since 1997 with the Chinese State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA), Ministry of Construction (MOC), Chinese National School of Administration (CNSA), other administration schools at provincial level, and most recently, through distance learning centers (DLCs) across China to reach farther regions.  More...
