Objectives: Environmental Economics for Development Policy (EEDP 10)

This two-week course on Environmental Economics for Development Policy introduces current thinking and best practices in using environmental economics to address resources and environmental problems at the macro, sector, and project levels based on recent knowledge and experience in applied environmental economics.

Participants will benefit from this course by:

  • Strengthening their skills in analyzing new policies, programs and projects for sustainable development;
  • Building environmental awareness;
  • Training and advising various types of audiences such as ministers, parliamentarians, government officials, managers, journalists, and NGOs on the analysis of specific environmental issues of relevance to their respective countries

Learning Approach

The speakers at the "Environmental Economics for Development Policy" course teach you general principles and techniques, and use case studies, publications, and exercises to illustrate the following five themes:
