This latest workshop on performance indicators was the result of collaboration between Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC), the research center Mario Molina of Chile, and the World Bank Institute. The modules were reviewed by the participants who came from universities, La Comisión Nacional del Medio Ambiente (CONAMA)-Chile, ECLAC and other agencies in Chile. At the end of the three day workshop there was agreement on the good quality of the modules and the case studies.Â
In addition to the pilot course, three case studies on the status of indicators of compliance and enforcement in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico were also presented by the respective coordinators and reviewed by the specialized audience of technical staff from CONAMA, ECLAC and the Molina Research Center. The case studies have been extensively reviewed in previous workshops and in each country in the last year. The coordinators will proceed with internal publications in their respective countries due to the demand of policy makers and environment agencies whose staff participated in the case studies as well as the need for relevant and up to date information.
