Together with the Brookings Institution, the Financial Sector of the World Bank is pleased to organize the global conference on Access to Finance: Building Inclusive Financial Systems, which will take place May 30-31, 2006 at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Our partners and co-sponsors include: ABN-Amro, Citigroup Foundation, Temenos, United Nations Capital Development Fund, and the World Savings Banks Institute.  The program gathers senior financial policymakers, regulators, bankers, investors, bilateral and multilateral aid agencies, as well as leading academics and researchers. The program addresses many of the dimensions of financial access: measuring financial access; understanding the impact of expanded access; examining alternative institutional models; exploring new technologies and information infrastructure; and evaluating government policies toward outreach.  The conference is this year's flagship event in an annual series co-organized by the World Bank and Brookings Institution. Each conference gathers senior-level policymakers and practitioners to address key issues in emerging markets finance. The conference series fosters a dialogue across regions, between emerging markets and developed economies, and between public and private institutions.  We look forward to your participation!  Program Organizer: Ms. Anjali Kumar Adviser, Financial Access Issues Financial Sector World Bank akumar@worldbank.org  Conference Coordinator: Ms. Colleen Mascenik Financial Sector Learning Program The World Bank 1818 H Street, NW Washington, DC 20433 Telephone: +1 202 473 7734 Fax: +1 202 522 7105 Email: cmascenik@worldbank.org |
