May 29 to June 1, 2007

Payments systems are a key component of financial sector infrastructure. Inefficiencies and high transaction costs in these systems represent a tax on individuals, enterprises, and whole economies. In this context, the World Bank and International Finance Corporation are co-organizing, in cooperation with SWIFT, the second global conference on Exploring Frontiers in Payments Systems Development. The conference will take place May 29th to June 1st, 2007 at World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, DC.

The conference will gather senior representatives from central banks, securities regulators, commercial banks, non bank financial institutions, payments operators, and multilateral institutions. Click here to download a registration form for this conference, and and email to Ms. Colleen Mascenik (cmascenik@worldbank.org).
