Every week over 10,000 women die of complications of pregnancy and childbirth.
Every week HIV/AIDS together with malaria and tuberculosis claim over 50,000 lives.
Responding to this daunting task is a major challenge for both implementing agencies and development partners. One of the major factors is limited capacity which stalls progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for health in client countries.
