Implementation Support and Advisory Services

Reform implementation is a key challenge for many developing countries. Providing implementation support is crucial in helping countries meet this challenge. There has been growing demand from clients for results-based implementation support. World Bank teams are responding quickly to client demand and are moving to apply state-of-the-art methodologies for achieving concrete results on the ground. The World Bank Institute (WBI) has responded to this increasing demand by developing a reform implementation support program centered around the application of the Rapid Results Approach (RRA).

In 2003-2004, the Implementation Support Program piloted the use of the RRA to support implementation processes in client countries. The approach was first applied at the country level in Kenya (Kenya Pilot) and later to several World Bank Projects (ongoing Rapid Results Initiatives). The RRA also became the basis for the development of a new capacity enhancement product to complement traditional WBI offerings.
