Improving Investment Climate in Tajikistan: From Strategy to Implementation

Overview

This two-day workshop, organized jointly with the Government of Tajikistan and the ECA region, was part of WBI's multi-year investment climate capacity building program in Tajikistan. The objective of the workshop was to help the Tajik government moving from the formulation of a private sector development strategy to effective implementation through the sharing of international experience.  Prominent practitioners, including Mr. Aleksi Aleksishvili, Minister of Finance from Georgia, Mr. Myung-Kyu Lee, Director General for Regulatory Reform in the Prime Minister's Office from South Korea, Ms. Andreja Marusic, Secretary to the Council for Regulatory Reform from Serbia, shared their experiences in implementing investment climate and PSD reforms with their Tajik counterparts. Participants of the workshop included the senior officials and staff of State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, Deputy Minister of Finance, senior officials from government agencies, and private sector and donor representatives.
