Issues and Options for Designing and Implementing a One-stop Shop for Business Registration in Tajikistan

March 11-12 2008, Dushanbe

Overview

This two days consensus-building workshop focused on supporting the Government of Tajikistan's requests in designing and implementing an effective, sustainable, and customer-oriented One-Stop-Shop to simplify the business registration process and to promote private sector development in the country.  The first day focused on presenting possible OSS options for the country and deciding on the most appropriate OSS model for Tajikistan, while the second day focused on implementation challenges and developing a work plan for the future.  The workshop was organized by the Government of Tajikistan and supported by the World Bank, with funding from the Japanese Government.  The workshop was a continuation of the multi-year Investment Climate Team’s Capacity Building Program for the country.
