The K4D program developed a enhanced knowledge economy assessment for Tanzania, as an input to the CEM for Tanzania that is currently under preparation, and that has as its focus: Growth and Poverty. On the growth side, the main challenge for Tanzania is to manage the transition from a reform and aid based acceleration in economic growth to sustained, productivity driven growth. The attached presentation provides a knowledge economy assessment for Tanzania, and highlights its position with respect to the KE on the four pillars that are considered to be critical for countries to make more effective use of knowledge for their overall economic and social development: (economic and institutional regime, education, innovation and ICTs).
