The World Bank Institute, together with Article Z and its MadMundo program, convened a multimedia and multi-site Videoconference on HIV/AIDS-related development goals and major international milestones in 2005.

The goal of the video conference was to better share information on international and national means (information, policy and financial opportunities) available to key stakeholders fighting against HIV/AIDS on the ground, and in particular civil society organizations (CSOs), as well as governments. This conference thus gathered CSOs, government representatives and international organizations and donors.

The first part of the conference addressed national responses to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, including coordination strategies among various stakeholders, their success and failures. The second part focused on challenges faced at the grassroots level and the means that civil society organizations could be provided to gain more support.
