Discussion Session

There is uneven progress in Intellectual Capital among the different communities presented (nations, regions and cities), but a common trend indicates that innovative communities record the best economic performance. From a global perspective, there was a convergence of points of view on the need to undertake more research that would produce taxonomy, standard terminology, the development of metrics (relevant dynamic-static indicators) of Intellectual Capital as well as the relevance of using or implementing IC reports and disclosure policies more broadly. Cultural issues and their relationship with Intellectual Capital were also considered as an important future topic for research.
