The timing was appropriate as most countries have reached important milestones in their PRSP process.

The Forum facilitated an exchange of experiences among Western Balkan countries on Poverty Reduction Strategies (PRSP) implementation issues. In particular, the Forum focused on strengthening integration with Europe as a driver of economic growth, greater social inclusion and poverty reduction, and on the design and implementation of power sector reforms to promote growth.

Delegates from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK/Kosovo), including country PRSP teams, key sectoral ministries, local governments, officials from the Ministry of Energy, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Social Protection, civil society, power sector regulatory agencies representatives, and parliamentary committee chairs overseeing the energy sector, participated in the Forum.

The Forum was organized and co-sponsored by the Greek Government, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Department for International Development (DFID).
