| The World Bank Institute’s objective in this information program is to assist partners, clients and stakeholders in addressing information deficits and to help improve its flow within government agencies and outside to the public at large. The program seeks to build and support the demand for better information and analysis, as well as to strengthen the capacity of the people and institutions producing the data, those who manage the information and keep the records, and those who disseminate information, such as the media.Â
The program seeks to strengthen the capacity of the institutions that play a significant role in ensuring transparency in the conduct of the affairs of institutions such as Parliaments and the Media, and in disentangling the regulatory environment in order to attain improved information flows. An additional objective is to bring the various stakeholders on both the demand side (citizens, communities, non-state actors), and the supply side (principally governmental institutions) together through a collective action process to facilitate the flow of information between the government andthegoverned. more
