Approximately 30 permanent staff and senior National Assembly representatives took part in a three-day review of pedagogical approaches to training elected representatives and staff. International resource persons included Ken Coghill (former Speaker, Victoria Legislature), Rasheed Draman (Director, African Parliamentary Centre), Rich Tobin, Rick Stapenhurst and Lisa von Trapp (World Bank Institute). The workshop was organized at the request of the National Assembly Training Institute, and was designed to assist NATI to develop training materials and pedagogical approaches for a major orientation program for new Members of the National Assembly, to be held after the forthcoming elections.
