Approximately 40 chairs and senior members of Public Accounts and Finance and Budget Committees and Auditors General participated in an in-depth five- day intensive action-planning seminar on parliamentary financial scrutiny at La Trobe University's Beechworth campus.

Participants shared experiences, lessons learned, and progress made over the past 12 months in implementing last year's action plans and  then developed new action plans for the coming year.  In addition, study visits were made to the Victoria, New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory (ACT) legislatures and to the Federal Parliament to receive briefings on how parliamentary oversight of the budget process operates within the Australian context.

This activity was undertaken in partnership with La Trobe University (Australia), the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), and the Centre for Democratic Institutions (CDI).
