This activity was designed to enhance participating parliamentarians' understanding of the relationship between governance and development outcomes. In particular, the conference focused on the ways in which governance and oversight institutions, such as parliaments, contribute to poverty reduction and economic growth. In addition, the activity aimed to share lessons, drawing upon practical examples provided by representatives from developing countries, on the role internal and external actors can play in deepening the work of governance institutions, such as parliament. This learning activity was attended by approximately 40 participants, including parliamentarians, civil society representatives, academics/ resource people and donor representatives.
