The Role of Parliaments in Promoting Good Financial Management and Accountability in Africa

The WBI, in conjunction with the Joint Africa Institute (JAI), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has convened a seminar on “The Role of Parliaments in Promoting Good Financial Management and Accountability in Africa,” in Tunis, Tunisia from November 19-23, 2007.  This learning activity was designed to enhance the knowledge of parliamentarians and senior parliamentary staff on issues relating to fiscal and financial accountability.  This event was attended by approximately 30 participants, including committee Chairs, Members of Parliament and senior parliamentary staff, as well as resource people and donor representatives.
