Judicial Reform in Colombia

The main objective of the program is to help the Judicial School to perform assessment of the current judicial training model for the Judiciary in Colombia to support the preparation of the Judical Sector Development Project. The program reviewd the existent policies and procedures of the Judical School in accordance with the best international practices to maximize the effectiveness of its work and thus to better contribute to the judiciary strategic plan. The program exposed participants to the use of modern tools presented by the other Judicial Schools that have implemented specific mechanisms for training the judiciary. Experiences from the region such as Costa Rica and others from Europe such as Spain and Italy were presented and compared with the current status of the Judicial School of Colombia with the aim of detecting areas of improvement.
