Objectives

The Social Protection Learning Program aims at:
-
fostering a common language and analytical framework for, and information/experience-sharing about social protection issues among a critical mass of client country stakeholders and members of the international development community so as to enable more informed decision-making about sustainable poverty reduction strategies and equitable development;
-
strengthening the capacity of client countries in policy analysis with a view towards reducing dependence on external advice;
-
providing new skills and state-of-the-art knowledge to Bank task managers so as to enhance the effectiveness of World Bank policies and projects in the area of social protection;
-
supporting country teams working on the preparation and implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper and the Poverty Reduction Strategy Credit Support.
