While improved conveyance and efficiencies of water use help to reduce the strain on existing sources, the need for new water resources is inevitable.
Water reuse is emerging as an environmentally sustainable, economically friendly option for a growing range of situations worldwide. It can augment water resources for nonpotable or indirect potable uses, while also affording environmental protection and deferring freshwater development costs.
This session, which includes participants from Tanzania, Uganda, Egypt, Palestine, Spain, Uzbekistan, examines the financial, technological and environmental feasibility of water reuse as a component of sustainable water management strategies.
