Welcome to the website of the Executive Director's Office that represents Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay .  The purpose of this site is to provide general information about the office, the countries we represent, and the World Bank Group.  

These countries have played an important role since they joined the World Bank Group.

The dates they became members of the World Bank are as follows:


September 20, 1956

Bolivia December 27, 1945
Chile December 31, 1945
Paraguay December 28, 1945
Peru December 31, 1945
Uruguay March 11, 1946

The Executive Director and his staff represents these countries in meetings of the World Bank Group's Board and engages in direct consultations and negotiations with Bank staff and other Executive Directors' offices in order to help the World Bank in its mission to reduce poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
