The Ninth Health Project for China aims to 1) reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity and improve child survival and development in the poorest areas of China; and 2) improve prevention and control of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and other blood-borne infections.
